Three-Dimenstional Photo Family Tree Collage Workshop – “Always Better Together”

Do you have boxes and boxes of old family photographs, family mementos, and or letters? Would you like to creatively bring together those priceless memories in a one of kind work of art? The Always Better Together Workshop will guide you towards the methods of building and 18 x 24 three-dimensional photo collage from your digitized family photos. The workshop is a sequence of easy step classes. Pre- class instructions; 1. Collect all your family photos you have saved for years 2. Scan and print the photos 3. Bring the multiple prints to each workshop. This is a perfect way to make a unique holiday gift.  Come and create a special keepsake for your family.  One student will win a gift basket raffle with some free complimentary art supplies. Mock Mimosa, coffee, tea and some light breakfast snacks will be provided as a courtesy for the adult classes. Closing exhibition on the last day of class.
Materials Required: Bring various sizes, color and black and white copied prints of your memories (letters, photos, buttons, mementos). The instructor provides the backboard and glue; frame NOT included.

Watercolor Workshop with Rockport Artist,  Chris Coyne, Saturday, December 2nd ~ ALL levels Welcome!
The Braintree Community Arts Center is excited to offer a Watercolor Workshop with well known Rockport artist Chris Coyne. There will be a brief discussion of materials and short demo before we begin painting. You may bring your own subject matter or paint along with the instructor’s demonstration using supplied images.  Open to all abilities, learn and practice watercolor techniques in a friendly, encouraging atmosphere. Writing Retreat  ~ 1 Day Workshops ~ Sundays

A day dedicated to writing. We’ll warm up with a few writing prompts, then spend most of the afternoon writing in companionable  silence, with occasional breaks and optional sharing. Open to adult writers of all experience levels and all types of writing. If you have a writing project, bring it; if you’re just beginning, we’ll have some resources to help you start. Either way, you’ll write a lot!

Improv Quilting Support Group
Teacher: Marge Tucker – bio                                                                                                                                                                        Improv Quilting support group is a group for those who are interested in improvisational piecing, whether you have never triedbeige and light strip improv quilt this method of piecing or have taken classes. Marge will have a focus/theme for each class and demonstrate a technique and/or time to work on projects you have started. The intent of this group is to foster enthusiasm for improvisational quilting in a fun and informal environment. We are aiming to meet every two months. Previous quilting experience is NOT necessary, but basic sewing skills are needed (basically you need to be able to operate a sewing machine). * Improvisational piecing can be described as no rules or regulations quilting. Materials Required: Please bring: thread for sewing machine, sewing machine, basic sewing supplies (pins, seam ripper, scissors), rotary cutter mat, ruler, square ruler for blocks, 1/8 yard cuts of 8-12 different fabrics.

Holiday Centerpieces Workshop (teens-adults) ~ Saturday, December 2nd

Get in the Holiday spirit by making your own centerpiece “long and low” with all fresh greens with your own personal touch! You don’t have to be crafty.. you will leave feeling great about your work. Bring some friends or family members and make it a special time .
