Improv Quilting Support Group is a group for those who are interested in improvisational piecing, whether you have never tried this method of piecing or have taken classes taught by the group facilitator, Marge Tucker. She will have a focus/theme for each class and demonstrate a technique and/or time to work on projects they have started. The intent of this group is to foster enthusiasm for improvisational quilting in a fun and informal environment. We are aiming to meet every two months. Previous quilting experience is not necessary, but basic sewing skills are needed (basically you need to be able to operate a sewing machine). *Improvisational piecing can be described as no rules or regulations quilting. Commercial patterns are not sued and therefore you are able to create unique and innovative pieces. Sunday, May 15th 10:00am-4:00pm, Cost $40. See instructor Marge Tucker’s website for her bio: www.margetuckerquilts.com or to reach her directly: firstname.lastname@example.org . Please bring: thread for sewing machine, sewing machine, basic sewing supplies (pins, seam ripper, scissors), rotary cutting mat, rotary cutter, ruler, square ruler for squaring up blocks, 1/8 yard cuts of 8-12 different fabrics.
