Reminder that the BCAC is open to Braintree and surrounding towns residents.

The Braintree Community Arts Center (BCAC) is Braintree’s new cultural asset that celebrates the arts for all to enjoy. Whether you define the arts as painting, dance, yoga, gardening, or some other worthwhile endeavor the BCAC will be a place to learn and grow at any age.

Our town’s past identifies itself with history and our exciting future is dependent upon being creative and appreciative of the importance of the Arts. In this newly renovated space we envision classroom instruction in many ways to enlighten you with new ideas and inspire you with stimulating program offerings. The BCAC will be a great gathering space for all to share in and benefit from.

NEW CLASSES ………….
Comics and Cartooning (Ages 10+)
Teacher:
 Jonathan Fleming – bio
Have a great idea for a story that you want to share, but not sure where to start?  In this workshop, we’ll start at the beginning, from learning how to draw simple characters to setting the groundwork for writing a comic book, cartoon, or video game.  We will discuss the basics of designing characters and how to draw them, followed by creating our very own from scratch. Then we will take those ideas and come up with our very own story concept.  By the end of the workshop, everyone should have the tools they need to go off and work on that great idea they’ve had in their head for so long!  So, whether you are just starting out on your artistic journey, or if you are looking for a new approach on bringing your ideas to life, this class has something for you!
Materials Required: Sketchbook, Pencils, Pens, Erasers (Paper and pencils will be provided, if necessary)
Workshop Day/time: Saturday, August 20th, 1:00pm – 3:00pm    Price:  $10 per person
